🇯🇵 1. Types of Japan Visas

Japan offers several visa categories depending on your purpose of travel. Common visa types for Pakistani citizens include:

  • Work Visa (Skilled/Specified Skilled Worker – SSW)

  • Engineering / Specialist in Humanities / International Services Visa

2. Basic Requirements for Japan Work Visa

To apply for a Japan Work Visa, you must prepare the following essential documents:

3. Certificate of Eligibility (COE)

The Certificate of Eligibility is a mandatory document issued by Japan’s Immigration Bureau.
It confirms that you meet the requirements to enter and work in Japan.

Key Points:

  • Usually applied for by your Japanese employer or sponsor
  • Processing time: 4–8 weeks
  • Must be submitted to the Embassy of Japan along with your visa application

4. Skill & Language Requirements

For Skilled Worker or SSW visa categories, you’ll need to meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a technical skill certificate or training proof
  • Have basic Japanese language ability
  • Some employers provide language support or training before deployment

5. Visa Processing Time

The total processing time varies depending on the visa type:

  • COE Processing: 4–8 weeks
  • Visa Issuance (at Embassy): 7–10 working days after COE submission
  • Overall Duration: Approximately 1–2 months in total

6. Important Notes
